Important Update: Teacher Strike

As previously communicated, members of the Alberta Teachers’ Association will begin full strike action on Monday, October 6, 2025.
-
Schools Closed: All Parkland School Division schools will be closed to students until further notice. This is not a transition to at-home learning—no new lessons, assignments, or assessments will be provided during the strike.
-
Teacher Communication: Teachers will not be responding to emails, phone calls, or messages (Google Classroom, etc.) while the strike is in effect.
-
School Activity: You may see vehicles or limited activity at schools as support staff continue working. However, schools remain closed to students and locked to the public.
-
Transportation: PSD buses will still operate for other schools not affected by the strike (e.g., private schools). These buses will not be picking up PSD students—please do not send children to catch them.
-
Learning Resources: The Government of Alberta has created optional “Parent Toolkits” with activities for families. These are not teacher-directed. Access them via Learn Alberta (Username: LA45, Password: 4384).
-
Community Support: We recognize this disruption may be difficult for families. If you or your child are struggling, please access community resources listed here: PSD Crisis Hotlines & Community Resources.
-
Fees: Any program or event fees will be reviewed after the strike to determine adjustments if needed.
Please watch for further updates from Parkland School Division by email and through the PSD website.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we navigate this provincial labour disruption.
